LARGE OVAL COFFEE TABLE BY LUCIAN RANDOLPH ERCOLANI FOR ERCOL, ENGLAND 1950S
This large high-quality coffee table was designed and manufactured during the 1950s by Lucian Randolph Ercolani, the founder of Ercol. Lucian Ercolani drew his inspiration from the local design and traditional craft in the area around High Wycombe in England, where he built his first factory in 1920.
This early model table from Ercol features an oval table top made from solid ash. Its elegant frame of black laquered solid beech has tapered legs and spindles which are constructed as a lower storage shelf for books and magazines.
