A beautiful set of four Tecta B25 cantilever dining chairs, purchased in 1993 and executed in white-finished natural cane with elegant chrome-plated tubular steel frames.

Originally designed by Tecta in 1976, the B25 is a refined interpretation of the cantilever chair — a typology deeply rooted in the Bauhaus movement and one that became central to Tecta’s design philosophy.

What makes the B25 particularly striking is the contrast between its materials. The cool, architectural chrome frame forms one continuous flowing line, while the seat and high backrest are entirely handwoven in natural cane (pitriet). The organic texture of the cane softens the strict geometry of the steel and gives the chairs an unusually light and elegant appearance.

The slightly curved high back follows the body beautifully, while the cantilever construction provides the subtle flexibility and comfort characteristic of a well-designed Freischwinger. Seen from the side, the chair has an especially strong sculptural silhouette.

This particular set was purchased in 1993 and has remained together as a set of four. The white cane creates a fresh, almost Mediterranean character and works particularly well against natural stone, travertine, stainless steel and darker woods.

Despite being designed almost fifty years ago, the B25 feels remarkably contemporary. Around a round travertine or marble dining table, the chairs create exactly the balance we look for at FOUND ICONS: recognisable design without being obvious, architectural yet warm, and understated enough to work in both modern and eclectic interiors.
